Scott's product packaging extends beyond the treatment of cylinder interiors. On the exterior, each cylinder is identified by serial number and bar code, and is thoroughly cleaned and then painted before shipment to our customers. Cylinder netting is used on Aculife®-treated cylinders to help protect against nicks and gouges during transport and storage. Every cylinder valve is cleaned and carefully inspected. Threaded metal valve plugs are used to protect against leaks. Finally, each valve is shrink-wrapped before being protected with a clean, screw-on cylinder cap.
All Scott high-pressure cylinders are clearly labeled. The PGS label lists the DOT identification number or UN number, as well as DOT classifications and safety precautions. Required transportation labels are clearly visible on the body of the cylinder. The User ID Tag lists the two most hazardous components of the mixture and the balance gas at their nominal concentrations. Gas mixtures and most pure gases ship with a Label of Contents.
