The Model 172 two-stage regulator has a tied-diaphragm in both stages of pressure
reduction. It facilitates the safe handling of toxic and reactive gases where
two stages of pressure reduction are specified.

Two stages of pressure reduction provide a stable delivery pressure as the
supply pressure decreases. |

Diaphragm and poppet on both stages are mechanically linked to provide a
positive shutoff should the normal regulator action fail because of sucked
back material or corrosion products. |

Zero-clearance connections are butt-welded to the body to provide an
assembly that is easily purged and installed. |

316 Stainless Steel wetted surfaces are electropolished, passivated and ultrasonically
cleaned to protect gas purity. |

The Model 1700 pressure regulator is the latest development for ultra high-purity
pressure reduction on the market. With no threads in contact with fluid media,
this design minimizes particle generation. The Model 1700 is a tied-diaphragm
type designed to resist attack from strong acid forming gases and to facilitate the
safe handling of corrosive, toxic and reactive gases.
