Methane

CH4

DESCRIPTION: Methane(CH4) is a colorless, flammable, nontoxic gas with a sweet, oil-type odor. Methane is normally shipped as a nonliquefied gas in high pressure cylinders (2000 psig @ 70°F).

APPLICATION: Methane is used as a getter in ionization chambers and as a calibration reference for calorimetric, environmental, petrochemical and industrial hygiene applications.
